Welcome To Kongo Cooper  1A

Hotep My Name Is...

Mama Pat

Greetings wonderful parents/guardians of the students of the Kongo Nation. My name is Mama Pat Morales and it is my pleasure to be your child's facilitator this year. I am a veteran teacher of 20 years. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, an ESL specialist certification and my level II certification. There are many fun and exciting events planned for this year. Over the years, I’ve grown to have very strong relationships and a good rapport with the students and their families. I am a very nurturing, but firm teacher. I believe that having a partnership with the families of my students, is a major factor to their success in the classroom.
Throughout the year, within Social Studies, we will focus on healthy lifestyles and ways to sustain the lives of our family, but especially our elders. For our SBA to HEKA focus, the students will examine how they can impact society in a positive way, by being the best family member they can be.
I am hopeful for much success this year for all of my students, and looking forward to watching all of them grow as intellectuals and individuals.

Respectfully,

Mama Pat

A Message from Mama Pat, Sis. Lindsey & Sis. Johnson

Hotep to the Mighty Parents & Scholars of the Kongo Nation

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe through this difficult time. After reviewing the daily assignment packets, we have revised them because some of them are very long. So, for each day, if possible, please complete your daily schedule as follows: For Literacy, complete assigned pages in Red Wonders book; complete written work for liberation book; complete thephonics reading comprehension sheet in the packet only. Please use pencil only to write, and not crayons as it suggests on the sheet. The pages in Sis. Lindsey's math packet for each day should be completed. The Cultural Arts assignments should also be completed. Sis. Sabrina's assignments were placed in your packets and further instruction can be located on her web page. The Social Studies project should be worked on over these few weeks. Lastly, Sis. Johnson's read aloud should be viewed and her graphic organizer completed daily, except for Saturday and Sunday. Please complete some lessons on reading eggs and math seeds as time permits. The videos and cyber school assignment links are located to the left of this message. (in the box) I hope this helps. The packets were created to keep our scholars reading, learning, and up to date with their class work. If there are any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or Sis. Lindsey.  We thank all of you for your continued support.
